[ TEAMLAB PLANETS TOKYO ] Awesome exhibition in Tokyo – Highly recommended for family

—– There are several kind of “TeamLab” exhibits in Japan. This article is about the one “TeamLab Planets Tokyo” in TOYOSU —–

Opened in 2018, This entertainment facility’s popularity is still increasing.

Many world famous person like Mr. Barack Obama and Ms. Michelle Obama, David Beckham & Victoria Beckham, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry etc… has visited this exhibition.
They all seems pretty enjoyed here^^

So what is so fun about this place?

This is unique museum to feel all installation with your bare foot.

Walk into the darkness, feels water, dive into amazing lights or arts of nature…

I’m sure kids would love it, and all family members too!

You need to reserve ticket online before you go.

As ticket are getting popular, better to buy asap if you plan to go weekend.

Walk ahead slowly in the very dark isle – several unique rooms are waiting for you.

Crystal Universe

Feel like in another world.

Drawing on the water surface

Beautiful digital fish are swimming – turning to flower once you touch them.

Well, 2-4years old kids would get wet pretty much ^^

Free floating ball room

Try hide and seek here.

Tips for family with small kids

Can Baby/Toddler enjoy?

Yes.

As it starts from dark area, some toddler might get scared in the beginning.

But after they feel water and lights, most of them would start to feel, “well,,isn’t this kind of fun…?!”

Be prepared to be wet

If could, everyone better wear short or half pants as water attraction is the main parts. (in summer)

For ladies, skirts is not so good because some area’s floor are made of mirror – underpants can be seen..

But it’s ok anyone can borrow towel and half pants at site. (ask staff for half pants)

For small kids, better bring extra clothes. (underwear and pants or skirts at least)

*FYI, our 4 years old kid were all wet.

Locker room and changing rooms are prepared.

If you didn’t bring clothes, and so wet, Let’s go & buy at La La Port Toyosu shopping mall.

How long does it take to finish?

Depends on family, but approx. 1.5~2hours.

Can you use stroller inside?

No.

All visitors will leave all belongings at lockers.

Stroller should be parked at stroller area.

Please bring carrier for baby who can’t walk yet.

You can leave all belongings at locker (for free)

Is there nursing room?

There is one diaper changing stand at toilet.
There are individual changing room, you can ask staff to use as nursing room if needed.

Is there cafe/restaurants inside?

No Food / Drink allowed inside the exhibition, and there is only one simple food stand outside the exhibits. (no table/chairs)

Therefore eat well before you visit here.

After finishing this exhibition, let’s move for lunch or dinner.

LaLa port Toyosu Shopping Mall

If you walk about 10-15min toward Toyosu, there is shopping-mall called LaLa port Toyosu. you can find many nice restaurants for family.

*Especially “100 spoons” is famous for family with small kids – Kids can enjoy drawing or book reading at table.

Toyosu fish market

Toyosu fish market is also 10-15min walk from here, but mostly close in the afternoon.

If you want to go both, visit&eat at Toyosu fish market in the morning, then going to TeamLab is the best.

If you take Yurikamome monorail, you can find another large shopping mall (3 station away).
