Best 7 Kids-friendly Shopping mall in central Tokyo [ for rainy day ]

There are many commercial buildings in Tokyo, but which ones are suitable for families with children?

Based on my personal experience, I’ve selected seven shopping malls that are ideal for families with young kids.

For rainy day or too hot day, I hope these infos will help your family.

Tokyo Skytree Town

There are Pokemon center, Ghibli store, Hello Kitty shop, Pla-rail, Tomica, Aquarium, Indoor playground, etc… No kids bored here.

Near Asakusa. Also direct access from “Oshiage” subway station.

Sunshine City

Big commercial building in Ikebukuro area has many shops for young kids to young school kids. Toy store, restaurants, amusement park, Aquarium, Pokemon Center, the biggest Gacha-Gasha store, observatory etc…  family can enjoy whole day.   

Access is good, about 5 min walk from ”Higashi-Ikebukuro” station of Yurakucho Line, walking through underground walkway. (no need umbrella )

DiverCity Tokyo Plaza

Have you seen Huge Gundam statue’s picture? It’s right here!

Poop Museum, Doraemon shop, Kitty shop, Round-one, many fun place are all so packed.

DECKS & AQUA CiTY Odaiba

There are 2 big shopping complex buildings side by side – DECKS and AQUA CITY, both family friendly.
Unique variety stores, legoland tokyo, Indoor petting zoo, Indoor playground, and many restaurants / cafes are here.

Ariake Gerden

It’s more local, family oriented shopping mall. Indoor playground Kid-o-Kid is on 4th floor, Large Muji store, book store with kids area… clean and nice shopping mall.

About 5min walk from Ariake station or Ariake tennis-no-mori station. (Yurikamome-line), 5min by taxi from Toyosu Fish market.

LaLaport Toyosu

Another local shopping mall, access about 10 min by taxi from Ginza area, also 10min walk from Teamlab Planet.

The baby-kids goods shop “Akachan Honpo”, Daiso, Tokyu-Hands, Kidzania etc… Facility is comfortably well-designed for parents with baby/small kids.

When whether gets better, there is kids outdoor playground.

Lazona Kawasaki

It’s station building at Kawasaki Station. It’s in Kanagawa, but actually easy access from central tokyo (ex.20min by train from Tokyo station to Kasawaki station)
