[ Tokyo Sea Life Park aquarium ] – around Tokyo Disneyland

Next to Tokyo Disney land, there is an cool aquarium.

This aquarium’s architectural design is done by Mr. Yoshio Taniguchi, who is one of the greatest architect in Japan.

Once you get ticket, people move to big glass-celling dome right next to Tokyo bay.
Then going down by elevator which made us image to dive into the sea deeply to meet sea animals.

This facility is actually 30 years old, but does not feel so – I felt power of timeless great design.

It’s only about 15min from Tokyo station, or 10min from Tokyo Disneyland by train (JR Keiyo Line) to “Kasai Rinkai Park” station.

How long does it take to look around this aquarium?

It’s mid-size aquarium – I think it would take applox. 1.5 – 2 hour for toddler, 2-3 hour for school kids. (exclude lunch time)

There are 600 kinds of fishes in this aquarium. No shows like dolphin or sea lions at this aquarium.

No worry about stairs, there are slopes for baby stroller / wheelchair.

Watch live bluefin Tuna!

The most unique and interesting point of this aquarium is big Tsuna (Maguro) tank.
If you already went to Toyosu fish market or Tsukiji fish outer market, you might have seen big Tuna (before become sushi) there – Here, you can see them alive.
(I actually never seen them alive before I came here.)

Now there are only 2 aquariums in Japan where you can watch running Tsuna.

Is there restaurant or cafe inside the aquarium?

At the end of the route, one casual restaurant shows up.
There are nice terrace area too.

But better avoid 12-13:00 if you could – you might have to wait in long queue.

*There is another restaurant outside the aquarium gate. ( About 10min walk from here)

After aquarium – Explore Kasai-Rinkai Park

This aquarium is located inside the large sea-side park called “Kasai-rinkai Park“.
Explore this park If you have time, there are an observation building, Ferris Wheel, picnic area, and park train.
Enjoy Tokyo bay sea side park!

*Park train : 350yen / Adult, 150yen / children (3years old ~ ) , Close on Dec, Jan, Feb.
