English & Kids friendly “Omakase” you can learn about sushi while you eat

Dreaming of an authentic OMAKASE sushi experience in Tokyo — but worried about bringing kids?

Welcoming Families with Children (Ages 3+)

There are many fine sushi restaurants in Tokyo, but the reality is — finding a high-quality Omakase sushi restaurant that welcomes small children is nearly impossible…

(*In Japan, most high-end sushi bars don’t allow children under 12.)

That’s what makes Reona Sushi, a newly opened spot in central Tokyo, such a rare gem for families!

Children aged 3 and up are welcome, and the experience is crafted to be enjoyable for both kids and adults.

A Cultural Sushi Experience – In English

Reona Sushi offers more than just top-quality omakase sushi.

Here, you’ll enjoy an interactive cultural experience where sushi is explained in English.

From the ingredients to the techniques, each part of the meal is introduced with care.

Sometimes, even video clips with English subtitles are shown to help diners (especially first-time visitors to Japan) understand the history and artistry behind sushi.

Finding a sushi restaurant in Japan that goes this far in educating guests —and does it in English— is incredibly rare.

A Sushi Restaurant with a Kids’ Room!

Right next to the counter seats, Reona Sushi features a kids’ playroom — perfect for little ones who might get restless during the meal.

( Even popular conveyor-belt sushi chains don’t offer a kids’ playroom—this is so rare in Tokyo! )

Some popular toys are available for kids, so parents can relax and enjoy the course without worry.

This thoughtful setup was born from the owner’s own parenting experience, aiming to create a space where families can enjoy fine sushi without compromise.

Pricing & Options

There are two main courses available.

Adults

  • Signature Omakase Course: 14 pieces of premium sushi
  • Watch the chef prepare your sushi right in front of you, with English explanation

*Kids can enjoy the same premium omakase course if they prefer

Children

  • For younger kids who may not be ready for Nigiri-sushi, a Chirasi-style sushi course is available
    (ideal for ages 3–8)

*Chirashi = Scattered sushi bowl, perfect for little ones

*Please note that children who order the Kids Plan are generally not seated at the counter. (This is to maintain the experience quality for other guests when multiple groups are sharing the space. If your group is the only one, no problem.)
