Traveling to Tokyo with kids? As a parent raising a child in central Tokyo, I’d like to share useful tips for parents and their kids based on my experience. I hope your family enjoys Japan!

How much do you think was this obi sash I bought? ..... It was 1,000yen !    Hanazono Shrine Antique Market (Shinjuku, Tokyo) 📍 5-17-3 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 🕕 Every Sunday, around 6:30 AM – until sunset (weather permitting) Located right in the heart of Shinjuku,  this open-air antique market is held in the peaceful grounds of Hanazono Shrine.  Around 40 vendors gather to sell all kinds of treasures — from vintage pottery and old books to retro accessories and Japanese antiques.  ✨ Highlights* Free admission* Easy access (3-min walk from Shinjuku-Sanchome Station)* Great mix of Japanese antiques and nostalgic retro finds, just like Demon Slayer’s world.* Relaxed local atmosphere surrounded by the shrine’s charm ⚠️ Good to know* The market may be canceled due to bad weather or shrine events.* Some vendors close early (around 2–3 PM).* Best time to visit is in the morning.* Bring cash — most stalls don’t accept credit cards. 外国人しかいなくてびっくり。な、青空骨董市。そして毎週日曜日、6:30amからやってるということにもまたびっくり。この穏やかな神社が、新宿の雑居ビルのど真ん中にあってまたまたびっくり🫨 見る人が見たらお宝だらけかも✨ ⚠️ただ小さな子供がここに来てもつまんないかも、、、？とは思います🙏 #Antiquemarket #Japaneseantiquemarket#Hanazonoshrine#shinjuku#tokyo #Japaneseantiques#骨董市#アンティークマーケット＃日本人のお客さんは私だけだった
